Product Dynamics - Reality Not Magic!

Are you eagerly waiting to witness the remarkable transformation promised by your skincare products? We understand your excitement! But the burning question remains: How soon can you expect to see visible results?

Prepare to embark on a journey where science meets beauty as we delve into the realm of skincare dynamics. In this captivating exploration, we'll unveil the mysteries behind the timelines of skincare results, empowering you with knowledge to make informed decisions about your beauty regimen.

It's essential to set realistic expectations. Each skincare product has its unique formulation, designed to target specific concerns, and the time it takes to witness noticeable changes can vary.

Imagine your skin as a canvas, waiting to be artistically transformed. Like any masterpiece, it requires time, precision, and the right tools. Patience truly is a virtue when it comes to achieving your desired skincare results.

Before we go into details of product dynamics, let’s first understand that product efficacy will also depend on a few variable factors:

  • Your age (the older you get, the longer it will take for products to act optimally)
  • Your general health
  • Your skin health
  • Skin disease (chronic skin conditions may diminish or heighten product efficacy)
  • Skin type (some skin types are resistant to topical measures)
  • Quality & concentration of active ingredients and the formulation itself
  • Non-compliance (you are too impatient and don’t give enough time for products to act)
  • Mixing various products that may interact with each other
  • The climate and pollution
  • Lifestyle habits like smoking, drinking, poor diet

Stage 1

1-3 Months (Adaptation)

Superficial changes like softness and glow will be the first benefits you may notice in this first, often troublesome phase. The superficial epidermis will take time to adapt to actives and you may notice tingling sensations and, in some cases, as with retinoids and acids, purging (irritation, more acne eruptions, dryness, increased sensitivity) may occur, meaning old skin is being pushed out and hidden junk is being pushed up along with the hastened cell cycle. The cells are trying to adapt and adjust to ingredients and after about a month, slowly they will settle down, and actives will begin the healing process. Antioxidants like Vitamin C will sink deeper into the epidermis and the processes of cell-to-cell communication and gradual translation will commence. As is seen with peptides, the cellular communication may start in the first week depending on type and percentage of the peptide. Acids, you will notice show faster results, again depending on the type of acid used and concentration along with the formulation itself. This is the first stage of your healing process and the most important. You must use your products regularly, beginning slowly then increasing to full dose. Scars, acne, hyperpigmentation and deeper issues will not show much improvement, as this is the epidermal (superficial healing stage) and deeper issues will take a longer time to heal. This stage may be troublesome for a lot of people as their skin undergoes adaptation to actives. Acne may worsen, and then slowly improve. But you may notice softer more glowing skin. Don’t expect miracles and please be consistent and regular with your skincare routine. If you are extra sensitive - we advise patch testing the product to avoid any issues. And again, your skin knows best! If something hurts your skin- STOP using it!

 Stage 2

 3-6 Months (Revival and Replenishment)

Your skin cells have now adapted to the actives within the formula and will start to act on the deeper layers of the skin, communicating gradually to dermal cells. You will start to notice the positive effects of your products as daily use will build up the natural pool of ingredients within the skin and daily dosing will replenish lost moisture, antioxidants and vital nutrients. You will soon notice a healthier and softer, plumper and brighter complexion with less fine lines and a natural radiance that indicates increasing skin-health. By the end of the 6th month, you may notice less acne eruptions, fading scars, less blackheads and whiteheads and a glowing more refined complexion with less prominent pores.

Stage 3

6-18 Months (Healing, Rejuvenation and Stability)

Beyond 6 months full stability will be attained and you will start to notice a calm and healthy barrier with fewer issues as your skin cells are now fully adapted to the ingredients and rejuvenation is optimal. Refined, smoother, plumper, brighter, calmer skin with good moisture levels will be achieved.

Stage 4

Lifetime Support & Adjustments

As age progresses, the capacity of your skin to heal and retain moisture will diminish, so you must continue your skincare routine, be regular with moisturization, exfoliation, antioxidant and peptide applications. Adjust according to your age and needs. Once you stop daily skincare, your skin-health will deteriorate, and you will be faced with premature aging, dryness and dull skin.

Set realistic goals, use focused and targeted skincare formulations,  adjusting with age and health to avoid irritation and maximize efficacy. Caring for your skin-health is a lifelong commitment and investment just like any other part of your body.

Use what your skin likes. If you are not consistent or patient with your routine, don’t blame the products, it’s your fault for neglecting your skin health. Avoid using random products that lack scientific credibility. Caring for skin is not a fashion or trend, it’s a matter of your health. Skincare is lifelong. So don’t expect to use a product for one month and look for miracles. Skincare, just like bodily and mental well-being is a lifelong commitment. Either commit fully, or not at all, but blaming products due to unhealthy habits on your part won’t go in your favor. You are just deluding yourself. Skincare formulations are topicals not surgical knives or needles and your barrier is a tough one, hence, persistence is key to healthy skin!

Caring for your skin is a lifelong but rewarding journey, we hope you can join us and experience gentle yet powerful transformation.

And remember…. Skin Health Matters.
